The Birth Defects Research Foundation is a non-government organisation with the mission of research and advocacy for development of situationally appropriate birth defects services within existing maternal and child health programme priorities of LMICs.

Our research focuses on asking:

  • What is the magnitude of birth defects in India?
  • How many children survive with disabilities and medical complications?
  • What services are available for them and their parents?
  • What are the unmet needs? What is the quality of life of children and their families?
  • What strategies can be used to prevent birth defects and reduce their impact on children and families?
